Church communication

Church communication in one place: announcements, events, groups, and prayer.

In a small church, communication often runs through a few people's phones. Someone forwards the group text, someone else posts on social media, and the newest family hears about the potluck after it happened. It isn't anyone's fault. There's just no single place to look.

myChelper puts the church's announcements, calendar, groups, serving teams, and prayer requests in one app. Leaders post once, and members know where to look.

Faith Software, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. We give churches a free app and website so a congregation's size or budget never decides whether it can stay connected. About us

How it works day to day

  • Announcements with a push notification

Post text, photos, or video to the church inbox. Every announcement also sends a push notification, and you can see how many notifications went out over a date range.

  • A shared events calendar

Add one-off or repeating events (weekly prayer meeting, monthly fellowship meal) and future dates fill in automatically. Make an event public, or visible to one group or serving team only.

  • Groups with their own conversation

Each small group, class, or ministry gets a message thread, leaders and co-leaders, and rules about who can post. Groups can be open, request-to-join, or invite-only and hidden.

  • Serving teams that don't need a phone tree

A team leader asks for help on a date and says how many people each role needs. Invited members get a push notification and an email, and accept or decline in the app. Members can mark dates they'll be away, and next week's ask can be copied forward in one step.

  • Prayer requests the church can carry together

Members post prayer requests, anonymously if they choose, and tap to say they're praying. Answered prayers move to their own feed. Any member can report a post, and the church's main admins review reports.

  • Daily devotionals and reading plans

Publish a daily devotional or a reading plan and members see it in the app each day, with their own reminder time, so the conversation between Sundays includes Scripture as well as logistics.

Using it well

The tool matters less than the habit. Churches that do this well pick a regular time for routine news, keep urgent notifications for things that can't wait, and make sure every announcement says what, when, and where. Our free training has a short lesson on writing announcements people actually read, and another on making events and groups easy to find.

You can turn individual features on or off for your church, so if you don't run serving teams yet, members won't see an empty screen for them.

Plain facts about communication on the Free plan

  • Announcements, events, groups, serving teams, and the prayer board are all on the Free plan.
  • The Free plan includes up to 3 mass notifications a month (new churches get a 30-day grace period). Paid plans send without that cap and can schedule announcements for later.
  • Your church can add more than one admin, each with their own permissions. The Free plan has a limited number of admin seats.
